Founded in 1993 by Joy Johnson and her daughter Melia Goodenow, HRN was born from decades of mentorship under some of Hawai‘i’s most respected kahuna healers. Through their guidance, and through the living spirit of the rainforest itself, Joy and Melia learned that true healing is not taken from nature — it’s given through relationship.

Joy and Melia studied directly under Kahuna Lapaʻau Morrnah Simeona — the beloved teacher who brought ho‘oponopono to the modern world — and Papa Henry Awae of Hilo.
